Reggie Bush’s New Record

Bills running back Reggie Bush has entered the record books for the worst possible reason. He is the first NFL player to rush for negative yards with at least 10 carries. Now some people are using this as a chance to hammer Bush but I have a different target in my firing line. THE BUFFALO BILLS! Bush only had 12 carries this season which isn’t a high enough work load. In a 30-10 loss to the New York Jets on Sunday they gave four running backs carries, none of them Bush. The coach couldn’t give Bush a couple of carries to get him out of the negative? Shame on you Buffalo.

Oakland Raiders

Who would have thought early in the fourth quarter of a week 16 game the Raiders season would end? At that point they were a game clear of the Chiefs for the second seed and winning 33-14 over the Colts. One week later the outlook is completely different. The replacement QB Matt McGloin was terrible before leaving with an injury and rookie Connor Cook wasn’t much better. It resulted in a 24-6 drumming at the hands of the playoff eliminated Denver Broncos. That loss knocked them from the two seed to the five seed and from a home playoff game to visiting the surging Houston Texans! The worst part of the whole situation is that the Raiders are now unwatchable! They have a bad defence and the offence without Carr is a complete joke. It’s a real shame for a team that a short week ago, were one of the most exciting to watch.

Jed York- 49ers Owner

For the second straight year Jed York has fired his coach after one season. Last season it was Jim Tomsula and this season it’s the infamous Chip Kelly. He also dispatched the general manager Trent Baalke. It’s hard to think that in 2012 the 49ers lost a nail-biting Super Bowl to the Ravens. Since then they fired one of the best coaches in football and lost half their roster to retirements and free agency. York is to blame for all of this. He couldn’t agree with Harbaugh and either picked the wrong coaches in simultaneous years or can’t stick it out with anyone for more than one season. He’s been destroying this franchise for years now. It needs to stop!

Tony Romo’s Return

It was only short lived but we finally saw Tony Romo this season, and it was spectacular. He led the Cowboys on a terrific drive and capped it off with a perfectly thrown touchdown pass. Personally, I would have liked to see more of Romo but I understand the reasons behind him only playing one series. All in all, it was great to see him back on the field and it looked like he hadn’t missed a beat!

Steve Smith

The 16 season 219 game of Smith has finally come to a close. Smith will be remembered for his ruthless attitude and tenacious play style. To this day no one wanted to go toe to toe with Smith. His moment for me was when he told then Patriots corner Aqib Talib to “ice up son”. A personality that will be sorely missed and a player who I personally loved to watch!

5000 Yard Man

Drew Brees passed 5000 passing yards for the fifth time in his career. A truly amazing feat which is made even more remarkable by a simple stat. There are four other quarterbacks that have passed for 5000 yards in NFL history; Dan Marino, Mathew Stafford, Peyton Manning and Tom Brady. They have all reached that mark once. Brees has more than the rest of NFL history combined! Amazing!
