Sean Lee Pro Bowl Snub
The Cowboys have been an underrated defence this season ranking fourth in points allowed and are currently the best run defence in the NFL. This is all thanks to Sean Lee. Although he hasn’t been making the flashy plays he has simply been unblockable. He is second in the league in tackles and has a whopping 12 tackles for loss. Pro bowl voters, shame on you.
The NFL community was shaken to its core this week when Derek Carr was twisted to the ground in the fourth quarter in Saturdays win over the Colts. They clinched a playoff berth but have most likely lost their MVP candidate which means bad news for their Super bowl aspirations. Meanwhile, the Titans were reeling after the lost their QB Marcus Mariota for the season and watched Matt Cassel ruin their playoff run in quick fashion. Cassel is bad and so is this news. Lastly, we have Tyler Lockett from the Seahawks broke his leg during their loss to the Cardinals. Lockett had just started to get going after injuries had slowed him down early in the season. He is a two-time pro-bowler as a return specialist and will be very hard to replace for Seattle.
Super bowl Rematch?
There will be no rematch between the Denver Broncos and the Carolina Panthers in the Super bowl this season. For the first time since 2003 neither Super bowl teams will not be participating in the playoffs. The Broncos 33-10 loss to the Chiefs on Sunday night shut the door for them and the Panthers were eliminated two weeks ago. Not good season for either team. Time will tell whether they can rebound and compete next season.
The Browns managed to avoid going 16-0 with a thrilling win over the San Diego Chargers on Saturday. When Josh Lambo missed a 45 yard field goal as time expired the crowd went wild in the “factory of sadness” (Browns stadium). Although the Browns players may have carried on a little too much I didn’t mind it. This is what sports all about. Even though they only won a single game they still work as hard as all the other teams and it was great to see them rewarded. Even if it will only be once!
The Texans made the right decision with the first pick in the 2014 draft when they took Clowney. He was the clear best player in the draft and finally he’s starting to dominate in the NFL. He was named to the Pro Bowl for the first time in his three year career. After injuries severaly slowed him down his first two seasons he has finally shaken them and stepped into a fantastic player. If you don’t agree just watch his tape, it doesn’t lie.
Zeke wins Christmas
Ezekiel Elliot has taken the NFL by storm in his rookie year. However, he knows where his bread is buttered, the offensive line. This week he bought them all a Christmas present, UTV’s! Customized ones to be exact. What a way to thank his offensive line for all their hard work. As they head into the playoffs he needs them by his side because as all the good running backs know, there nothing without their offensive line!
